I haven't built a ship model in a while, so I broke out my USS Arizona and Missouri models. They need the following colors which I am having trouble finding. My local hobby shop has a good selection of paint products but not TruColor, where I found these listed (except the non-specular colors).

Deck Blue 20-B (I did find a reference that AK 5001 is a good match)

Navy Blue 5-N (by the color chart, Intermediate blue or dark sea blue might work)

Haze Gray 5-H (I found a reference that MMP 114 or Tamiya XF-63 would work)

Non-Specular Light Gray ACUS05

Non-Specular Blue Gray ACUS06

The last two are for the Kingfisher float plane.

I appreciate any suggestions or comments; thanks in advance!

Look at the sets put out by several makers like Lifecolors, Hataka, etc.

Thanks. I didn't notice if my shop carried those but its an excuse to go back!

Although I still have some Model Master Acrylics in the USN colors, The True North enamels deserve a look. I have used them as well.

My very Favorite though is the White Ensign Models Colourcoats line of enamels. At one point they were hard to find in the US. I bought mine from Snyder & Short. When the supply seemed limited I really stocked up on the colors for US Naval, so I'm all set for a long time. I do believe they can be found in the US again.

lol, this is funny...

There's this guy...after Testor's Acryl naval colors went away...he started his own paint company, specializing in WW2 naval colors. He shows up at Nats every year, he's one of the "OG" camo guys who was doing camo research back in the 80s and 90s at National Archives. I think he's doing a seminar on USN color and camo doctrine at San Marcos this year ...and he's an IPMS member... Hmmm...I wonder who it could be?

At any rate - here's his website.... www.scalecolors.com

Thanks, Jeff! I was wanting to pick up the paints at my local shop... maybe I'll see if he'll stock these?

I only sell direct...it's me... drop me a line and I'll get you set up.

Jeff, they're acrylic.... I might buy one from you in Texas just to see if it sticks better than most.

They're a hard-polymer acrylic...once cured, they behave just like an enamel.

Jeff, I'll place an order on your website. I see that the product is airbrush ready, I typically use a brush, other than a need to apply multiple coats, do you have any other recommendations for use?

I can attest to the excellence if these colors. It's almost time for me to stock up again myself.

Tony, they're formulated for airbrushing. You'll be disappointed if you try to hand-brush them.
