BeeWunGuy Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Hello all, This is my first post here. I thought I would share my build that I just finished up. Alot of scratch building went into this along with kit corrections to bring her to "B" model specs. I used to crew the real deal for my entire career till the day I retired from the Air Force. I built this kit off of my memory of her. Thanks for looking.
ghodges Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 Beautiful Bone Garrick! Are the slats/flaps kit parts, aftermarket, or your own work? Great looking finish too! Congrats on a super looking build and thanks for sharing! GIL
BeeWunGuy Posted May 30, 2014 Author Report Posted May 30, 2014 The slat and flaps are scratch built, as are the exhaust nozzles and other goodies. Since the parts market for the 1/72 scale version are almost non-existent I had to scratch build a lot of items. Thanks for looking.
WildBill50 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 One of my favorite aircraft. Excellent model...really like the wing fairings. Which kit did you use? They should have built more of them when they had the chance. Wrong plane, wrong time. Bill
BeeWunGuy Posted June 1, 2014 Author Report Posted June 1, 2014 Thanks Bill, This is the old monogram kit. One of my favorite aircraft. Excellent model...really like the wing fairings. Which kit did you use? They should have built more of them when they had the chance. Wrong plane, wrong time. Bill
VonL Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Sweet job on a challenging project - !!! Nice work opening up those OWF panels and the wings, especially. Good memories of '129 here, too.
aAzZ09 Posted June 7, 2014 Report Posted June 7, 2014 Nice Bone, Garrick! Keep up the good work! Mark
