noelsmith Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Matchbox ( now marketed as Revell ) made a very nice 1/32nd scale DH Tiger Moth trainer a number of years ago. It really surprises me that the Boeing Kaydett Stearman has never been kitted in a larger scale like 1/32nd or 1/24th. The Primary U.S. trainer during WW2 has long been neglected in my opinion save for 2 very old kits in smaller scales. How about it Revell or Trumpeter?
ghodges Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Well, there will be a NEW 1/48 PT-17 Stearman ealry next year from Revell. If it sells well, perhaps they'll scale it up! GIL
RGronovius Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 That's one of the few biplanes I've built; that large scale Tiger Moth. I know I've also done the Stearman when Lindberg released it for the movie ID4. That would be a great large scale model kit.
ghodges Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 In a related way, if you want large scale prop trainers....Kinetic is releasing a 1/32 T-6 Texan very soon! GIL
arkie Posted January 12, 2018 Report Posted January 12, 2018 Check Google for "Silver Wings" an English company that produces several 32nd scale aircraft. Among them is a PT-17. Not cheap but very nice kits; C. Davis IPMS USA 3687
