A "Seminar" album has been added to the gallery. Only a few pics in it though....how about you guys shooting some box top pics and sending them along?
-
Thanks! We'll go with that manufacturer! I appreciate the replies and the help.

Nope. Nothing in English under or around the logo.... In fact, other than the P-51 label there's no English anywhere on the box. I do not have the box available to me. The model, along with several hundred others was part of a kit donation to the Warrior Family Support Center at Brooke Army Med. Ctr. a few days ago.

I cannot identify the manufacturer of this model. Its a 72nd scale P-51.

After a quick "search" of the contents of the Albums, a few images were found and placed in the F-89 Album. We now have 5 images. One really needs to be replaced due to the poor quality of the existing image. I've found that, on occasion, the image seems to get "damaged" while being transferred into the album. The thumbnail isn't all that bad but the full sized image is poor. That would be the 1/48th scale Revell F-89D, item # 4548. Interestingly, I found that the box art for the Ace kit and the box art for the Revell kit, 4548, previously mentioned are very similar. If you've got images to share please contact me.

Ed, I'll make sure that they didn't get placed in one of the other albums. I remember having the old Revell Odd Scale kit(Air Power Series) and a 1/48th version, also by Revell, or at least I think I remember them.

200 + images were added to the Box Art Archive within the last 72 hours. (You can find the B.A.A. by going to the new gallery, finding the album labeled, Box Art Archive, and clicking on the image on the cover) While working on these images I found that there was only one image of an F-89 Scorpion. If you have an F-89 kit please consider taking a digital image and sending it to me via email attachment. If you have more than a few, or if the image sizes are too large for email then please contact me and I can provide you with a way to transfer any number of images without resorting to the use of an email attachment. If you find that your favorite subject is under-represented on the B.A.A. then please feel free to submit images. Please note that the item # (found on the box top flaps) and the scale should be sent as well. Each image is named in such a way as to include that information and that is important when visitors use the "search" feature within the gallery. Thanks!

Are you referring to the Apollo 11 48th scale or the 96th scale kit?

Need some box art pics for Airfix
Dick Montgomery replied to Dick Montgomery's topic in General Modeling
Family first! Everything else is rather inconsequential. When you find the time to start collecting images, and if you have a modicum of technological skill (if you can use the forum you have the required skill level!) when you're ready to transfer the images contact me....I have an easy way to move a large # of images without using email. -
Colonial Viper by Monogram

Thanks for the kind words and for the suggestion on the pipe screen. One can also find such items at LHS's that sell HO scale detail parts. Or one can wait until a neighbor repairs a torn screen and discards the orignal....lots of material can be had.... Dumpster diving should be an Olympic sport. -

Need some box art pics for Airfix

Thanks Mark! There are 3 bits of info I need when an image is sent for inclusion in the archive. 1. What is the subject? ( P-51B or M1A4 or USS Arizona)...that kind of info. I can usually get that from the box top image, itself. 2. What is the item # ( This is the item # given to that particular product by the manufacturer. It is usually a set of letters and number such as H-1805, or PA38-200 ) This info is almost never on the box top but is usually printed on the box top end flaps. 3. What scale is the model? 1/48? 1/72? 1/87? 1/35th Taking a digital image of the box top is generally easier than scanning the box top. That's up to the contributor. Try to avoid using a flash or make sure that if you do you avoid any kind of glare reflecting into the camera lens. Also, you'll have to center the camera lens as best you can in order to avoid "keystoning" the image. You'll get a wierd distortion such that the rectangular shape of the box top is bent as though it were being inflated with air. Don't worry about that too much...it can be cropped out of most images. Contact me via PM or email if you have a large number of contributions...there's an easy way for you to transmit them rather than as attachments to an email. We'll talk. -
Thanks for the link, Eric! That's so cool!

Please and thanks! The Archive is "light" on armor, especially Airfix. I'll contact you via PM with some information on transferring the pics. -
I was adding the new AZ Models JFC-1 Widgeon Box Art to the Box Art Archive (go to "Gallery" on the home page, select "new galleries", select "Box Art Archive", select "Manufacturer" and then "AZ Models"), and I realized that there isn't a pic of the box art from the Airfix Widgeon kit(s). Anybody have one they can send? I'd also ask that you supply the Airfix item number found on the box top end flaps. Thanks!
