Mike Lindsey Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I'm looking for anybody that's got a little ALPS experience to help me avoid the many pitfalls that I'm sure await me. . . Mike
phantomordie Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I went sking in the Italian Alps once. Doesn't count ,huh.
Mike Lindsey Posted November 12, 2008 Author Report Posted November 12, 2008 As Sherlock would have said, "You've been a big help, Dr. Watson." Mike
Ron Bell Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I've heard of MD 50/50, but didn't know Mogan David made a 5000. I'm no help.
SkyKing Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 There are a couple of Yahoo groups you should join: the Alps group (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Alps/) and the Alps Decal group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alpsdecal/). Both have extensive documentation and how-tos in their files.

VonL Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I've got an ALPS MD-1300 awaiting return from storage, whenever the computer gets some space allotted near the workbench. The 5000 is in a whole new league, so you probably won't have the same issues.
Mike Lindsey Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 Thanks, Jim. I paid $275 and saw a couple of test prints done before it was packed for shipping. If it survived the trip I should be okay. I have Corel Draw X3 but it is a tough one to learn. I'm still hard at it. If I can finally make some quality decals it will be well worth the money and effort. Thanks again for the great info Mike
