Gene64 Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Hello Gentlemen and Ladies Trying to restart my love and passion for model building, now that I’m retired and have slowed down a little with Wifey’s "sweetie let’s go here…" I’m really looking forward to joining a chapter meeting people and attending one of the big conventions. My interest has been cars, old and new, military Jets, and modern 1:35 military. Right now I’m working on a LE figures and diorama. THANK YOU for letting me come hangout Eugene 1
ghodges Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Welcome Eugene, to the forum and retirement! Although the "wifey" may throw a monkey wrench into any bench time you may plan, at least you now have 6 Saturdays and a Sunday to work around that. Settle in and make yourself at home. Please post whatever you're working on or have completed and let us know how WE can help make your modeling more FUN! Gil
Circuitrider Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Glad to have you, Eugene! Congrats on the retirement! I've got about 8 years until I pull the pin...not that I'm counting or anything. Welcome!
Mark Deliduka Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Welcome Eugene from another SoCal modeler. I live in Rowland Heights, and I'm a member of the Orange County IPMS club that meets in Buena Park. I know that's a bit of a haul for you in Riverside but if you're interested in joining us, we would welcome you. We are one of the most active clubs in the area and the hosts of the annual Orangecon contest in October. Meanwhile, I'd also love to see your work. Thanks again for joining up! 1
Roktman Posted January 31 Report Posted January 31 I'm no where near SoCal, but it's always good to see another modeler re-enter the hobby. The best thing about the hobby is you can put a kit down for (insert time period) and whenever you're ready come back and start again. There's new products/ techniques since you've paused, but it's still basically the same ol' building and painting. Welcome aboard! The Duke will take care of you. 😉
Gene64 Posted February 25 Author Report Posted February 25 Thank you Sirs! I jumped back into model building pretty soon after retiring. Started building the Tamiya Porsche 1/12 scale, didn’t finish then I started the Tamiya F14…. Didn’t finish! SMH🤨 Recently I started on recreating this classic but in LAPD Style, The historical Knock Knock, The Peace Maker, The BatterRam. I’m going to finish this one to the end I started on some figures from the old Dragon Urban Elite Series, have a plan to create a Diorama scene with it. I’ll keep you guys informed and hope to get some expert advice from you legends and anybody else.
