This is a "re-box" of one of the original Airfix kits. They released it as part of their Airfix Club during their anniversary year. It was in a bag with a cardboard header just like the original. I think the tooling was updated, however, as the detail was way better than the technology of the 50's would provide. I did it just for fun, so I did it in flight mode with wheels up, known now as "model on a stick". Of course, being in flight, it needed a driver, so I used the surprising well molded kit pilot and I needed to make the prop in motion, so I did that with some clear acetate. I'm no Spit expert, so I have no idea what mark it is and I did it with the black/white underside which also may not be right, but I like it.

Sweet Ron! I have the same kit on my workbench. It is an updated tool from Airfix, but nonetheless builds into a terrific model of a Mark I Spitfire. Among Airfix aficionados, it is known as the "BT-K" Spitfire, as the BT markings are fictitious and do not represent an actual squadron. The other markings and configuration are however, 1940-correct!

Way to go, Ron! Looking good,
