btauber Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Hello, I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself. I've been building models since childhood (early 1960's) and have always been interestedin WW2 aviation. For many years I have studied the B-17 Flying Fortress and most aircraft of that era. I'm currently a member of the 8th AF Historical Society, 305th BG Association and was a volunteer during the 10 year restoration of the B-17G Shoo Shoo Shoo Baby which now resides at the Air Force Muesum at Wright Patterson AF Base in Ohio. ghodges Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 Welcome Bob! First, thanks for your dedication in the restoration of a historic plane! I know thousands of people enjoy their visit to the museum that much more because of it. As for WWII aviation and model building.....yea, you can find some good company here! Cheers! GIL
Mark Deliduka Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 Welcome Bob! I commend you on your assistance in restoring that classic plane. I would love to be able to help do that someday. It sounds like you are a most valuable addition to these boards. Glad to have you here. I would love to see pics of your models!
aAzZ09 Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Hello Bob: Welcome aboard! You'll find plenty of help here. I am an aviation enthusiast and focus mostly on the years 1930 to 1955, and saw many a prop liner, early jet, and other aircraft fly over my neighborhood as a kid. Feel free to ask us if you need help. Happy Modeling, Mark Fiedler (aAzZ09) Edited January 26, 2013 by aAzZ09
