  1. Thanks for the pictures Duke. They will be a big help when I get around to building mine. Great work.
  2. Absolutly post your in progress pics Duke. And thanks for the decal tip. Chuck
  3. Very nice work Duke. I've got one in the stash that I keep putting off. How long did it take to complete? Chuck
  4. My Vietnam Era time was in Loring AFB, Me, Anderson AFB, Guam, and Grand Forks AFB, ND. I only had the info because I'm getting ready to start the kit and have been doing a little digging.
  5. Doing a google search on v100 in Vietnam will turn up several pictures of the v100 in vietnam with the turret. It seems they were used by MP troops for base and convoy security. Here is a link to 19 pictures (inside and out) of one on display at the Army Museum in Hanoi: http://s104.photobucket.com/albums/m181/bu...uk/Hue%20V-100/ It looks like no restoration has been done on it. A plus IMHO. Sq/Sig "Armor in Vietnam" has pictures of the turreted version in use with the Army convoys and the open topped version used by the Air Force for AB security. I'd really like to have more info on radio type/placement (and the interior in general) , perhaps a small detail set for the interior to include the radio, and as an AF Vet, the open topped version, or a conversion, released. Fire Extinguishers

A few years ago on Armorama (IIRC) there was a thread about this. I seem to remember pictures of the 2 rear (Interior) extinguishers on the 251 being a green color. I, like you, use red to add a little color to the model, and we are in good company. Pat Stansell of MMiR gets a lot of comments for doing the same thing. Since all color shots I have seen are of restored vehicles, and I've seen both red and green, I say go with your gut.
  7. The ones I am actually working on are: Universial Carrier Wasp in Canadian service. Ford F-350 dualie with a scratch build welding bed. I also have probably 2 dozen others, some going back for years, which may never be completed. You have an impressive lineup of halftracks there Duke.
  8. That is an outstanding model! Yes, I have actually changed my mind about posting pictures because of seeing my mistakes. Sometimes, a model looks better in person.
  9. Another modeling supply we can steal from SWAMBO! I use them to store small parts and sub assemblies when I'm building a model. I need all the help I can get when it comes to being organized. And, I loose fewer parts.
  10. Nice work John. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures. Almost makes me want to build one.
