  1. Thanks Mike. There sure are a lot of online shops. I usually hover around 2 or 3 others, but these look good to me. The Scalehobbyist site shows that Dragon will be coming out with these kits soon. Now I'm very interested. Grant
  2. I just finished a fine book by Osprey called "Modelling the Panzer IV in 1/72 Scale" by Alex Clark. The book was written in 2004. He based most of his how-to stuff on the Revell Germany Panzer IV H and J kits. Some of kits started as Hasegawas, but they ended up being more Revell than Hasegawa. I thought...neat...let's try some of these techniques. Here's the problem: The Revell kits are out of production. Now there are fine Dragon kits out there, and the Hasegawa kits are nothing to sneeze at, but where would one get a really solid example of a Panzer IV J these days? Mirage makes nice C and D models. Should I wait for Dragon or Mirage to put one forth, or is a vendor still selling the Revell kits out there?

    Fire Extinguishers

Hi all, Thanks for the comments. I'll keep with the red, but green sounds fun also. When it comes to odd-ball judging, I usually think ahead to the next show...too bad this one is in February...3.5 months from now. Grant

    Fire Extinguishers

Recently I built a kit of a Dragon 251/10 D. The directions called out a red fire extinguisher. I liked the red color because it broke up the interior a bit, but I've always painted the extinguisher the hull color. At a recent show, the armor judges were mocking the redness of my extinguisher. What's the verdict? If not red, what color would the be if not painted along with the hull...axis or allied? Hint: Always avoid listening in on judging of your own stuff at a competition. It may frustrate you. I happened to hear all of this because I was across the table judging aircraft.
