    Creole guide

This is 54mm from Thunderbird Miniatures figure that I picked up at the Atlanta Show. With my Louisiana heritage, I just couldn't resist. I pull this one out a while back and thought, "This will be a nice weekend project." Well two months later it is finally complete. Comments always welcome.
  2. Sorry, Ed. It is the Hasegawa 1/200 Space Shuttle Orbiter & Hubble Telescope Limited Edition
  3. A little something different for me. Comments always welcome. Chris Fontenot
  4. Thank you gentlemen for the kind words. Gil, I totally agree with what you and Mike have said and plan to incorperate that into my next civil war vignette. I did add some pigments since the photos, but not enough. David, the figures are nice for the price. In these days of out of sight figure prices, you can still get these for about $20 each. In the vignette, I changed out the heads on most. They are metal, so they are difficult to modify and make them look good. Thanks again gentlemen. Chris Fontenot

    Arapaho

This is the Arapaho sculpted by Matt Springer and distibuted by The Wheel of Time. The bust is about 250MM and painted with Vallejo acrylics. Thanks for looking and comments always welcome. Chris Fontenot
  6. Hello Mike, Thanks for the kind words. I have only been painting for about 3 years, so I still have a lot to learn. I have done knights that were dirty and bloody with the "after the battle" look, but this project was so I could experiment with black (really muted grey tones) to achive contrast without loking like a zebra effect. I only use Vallejo acrylics. The helmet was base coated with oily steel, shaded with oily steel and black mix, and highlighted with silver. Chris Fontenot
  7. Hello Guys. This is a 54mm knight Hospitaller from Friulmodels. Yes, the same company that makes the cool armour tracks. Comments always welcome. Chris Fontenot
  8. Thank you Gentlemen. Mike, the flag has been weathered, but I think that the starkness is more of a result of the contrast between the white and blue background. On the weathering of the figures, you are spot on. I definately need something to tie the groundwork to the figures. I just don't want to go overboard. Chris Fontenot
  9. Hello Kevin. Thanks for the kind words. This is my first vignette and it was a lot of fun. I have an idea to do one of the 5th NY Zouaves next. Thanks, Chris Fontenot
  10. This vignette is titled "Fall of Petersburg" and is the 37th North Carolina on April 2, 1865. The figures are from Shenandoah and are 54MM. All painted with Vallejo acrylics. Comments always welcome.
  11. Thanks David. This figure started out life as a Michael Roberts 75MM Cavalry Trooper. http://www.coloradominiatures.com/MR-75011.aspx I used the alternative head and swapped out the Spencer rifle for a double barrel shotgun and the Blakesly cartridge box for a haversack. Chris Fontenot
  12. Hey Guys, Its been a while since I have posted anything. I just completed this 75MM figures painted as Terry's Texas Rangers. I still struggle with my camera and tend to wash out the contrast. Thanks for looking and comments always welcome. Chris Fontenot
