  1. Very clever Ed! I did the "microphone" thing, adding a piece of foam, over the rather poor quality mike's of the mid 60's, and placing them near the speaker (mono), of the radio. Had a TDK cassette player, HUGE thing, but quite "modern" for the time, as my Pop was selling the latest, in Audio-Visual gear, at the time. Introduced me to technology, most people didn't see for another 5 years, ahead of schedule. Hence, my fascination with technology got an early start! Recorded shows, and Pop music of the time. Used to make our own recorded "shows", with a friend, using Disney's "Haunted House" sound effects album, as special effects background, to tell "scary" stories. Good times!
  2. Sorry Dude, already been a choice, I don't repeat films, always something new, Dave tried that one already....... ....Strike! And that counts as a "clue", hehehehe............ "Let there be light......"
  3. Oh, and a rule implementation to make it a bit more challenging. If I stump you all 10 times, before a player guesses 10 times correctly, no prize kit issued. We start a new set of rounds for the "Prize". Adds the element of "me vs. you"! You've seen me "slip up" a few times, so I can be beaten at "my own game", you just have to outguess all others, and lil ol' me, before I stump you ten times! I am considering making the prize, more "interesting", as well, a much more valuable kit, perhaps, the Marco Tricorder in the Sales section? Who knows? It's all up to you, my valliant combatants. My aim is to make this the most replied, viewed, whatever, thread, on the entire Forum. We're number #2, overall, right now, I think if we all really "kick butt" here, it would certainly make me want to give you an increased desire to win!! Just part of my master plan to rule the WORLD!!!! Egotistical lil' bugger ain't I!! :P Now, let's resume our "little" game....shall we....... B) Stuff Happens.........
  4. OK, quiet around here..........a clue for a guess, today only! The Director of this film, is well known, for very "Dark" subject matter and themes, in his films. A few guys like this, but not an endless list....... A guess, a clue, but TODAY only!
  5. Bruce Dern was "phenomenal" in that, and the three bot's just broke your heart...but silently so...........strike....
  6. Ok Players, next round begins today, the image below for your consideration and....a clue! This is in the 60's, to the late 70's time-range, and produced a musical score of very high quality. Let the games begin...............
  7. Sorry, not my intention, just making a little, (very little) joke. I remember using L brackets, to rig up a cassette player, in my old Dodge Dart, with a metal dash, fun times!
  8. It's one of the greatest SF films ever! The "interludes" with the crazed tatooed vagrant, and the young man, lead to visions of the future, dark and surreal. His "hunt" of decades, for the "Lady" in the tatoo parlor, who turned him into a human canvas, makes him enraged, at a humanity shocked by the visions, brought on by his "skin illustrations". A powerful film, and one of Steiger's most incredible performances! One of Bradbury's greatest works as well, in my humble opinion. I've seen this film many times, the verbal clues alone, would have tipped off anyone who really enjoyed this movie, regardless of the image. The film has 3, of the 18 short stories, that make up the written work Bradbury wrote in 1951. Future adaptations of some of these stories, are slotted for production in the next year or so......... If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and rent it!! Awesome film!!!
  9. God, Reel to Reels, had TDK ones for years, all gone to cd/dvd now, watch them invent a new format soon, back to the stone age, all over again! Collections spread out in 2 homes, too many!! Need more room for prop and models collection, and studio space, so were adding on to the main house. 8 tracks! I think I remember those..............
  10. OK Players, times up....a "stumper" on your heads!! The movie was "The Illustrated Man", written by Ray Bradbury, and starring Rod Steiger, and Claire Bloom, in various roles, in a three part story. All connected by the illustrated Man, who's tattoo's tell tales, if you stare at them. Image revealed the spartan, modern home, of the characters in the first tale, "The Veldt". Both characters can be made out a bit, very little of the view screen, as that would have given it away quickly. The set was the hint, a multi level design not seen in many films. Verbal clues were lines from the film, as well as some obvious comments on a "Great" actor, who passed recently. A truly outstanding Fantasy/SF blend, and still great to watch after many decades!! Another image will pop up tomorrow, Smurf's off for the night.......... Remember now players........?
  11. Mike and Dave, my "Wunderkids", both.......so wrong......STRIKES!! ......... Good God guys, it's a brilliant film, look at the verbal clues, the image, it's so obvious........... ! S5 is an all-time favorite, Kurt was a genius all through his writing days, I've read everything he ever wrote, amazing talent. Read this at 13, blew my lil' mind.........
  12. IT'S A "CLASSIC", YOUR GONNA KICK YOURSELVES WHEN YOU FIND OUT......FAIR WARNING.......
  13. "CHICKEN"!!! "NO GUTS NO GLORY!" Scared to take a "stab" at it, that was a clue...... HATED SMURFS? HERE'S ANOTHER RAZZBERRY FOR YA'..........
  14. That's 6 pm EST, for you, Central and Pacific time-zone people................ You gonna take that from this little Blue Fart????
  15. Almost ready to begin sub-assembly construction, and early lighting installation. Primary CCFL Tubes, and the Thruster circuit LEDS first. These are the light test session shots, using the most sensitive "dark mode" Lens settings, on the Studio Camera. Windows, Port Holes, and back lighted inserts completed.
  16. ............RIGHT BEHIND YOU HA!!! Actually in Daytona Beach Florida, Beachside. Just ordered the sound track to "Strange Days", with Ralph Fiennes, there's a Peter Gabriel, with Deep Forest, tune on there, that is really something "else". Music plays constantly in the Studio, I have an I Pod with 80 Gigs of music, and it's full......... I have a client who is "almost to the top" at Warner Music Group, and he sends me music constantly, over 6000 CDS in stock, at this time, love the stuff!! I build to live, but I live for the Music..........Dude!!
  17. The soundtrack to the film, "The Fifth Element" by Eric Sierra, is pretty awesome too!
  18. Short of naming the actor, and the film myself, the last verbal clue was a dead "give away", you guys are getting lazy.......... One more, or admit defeat, I've given plenty of clues, I'm sitting here waiting for someone to figure it out. "A Rocket, a powerful Rocket.......right here..........." You guys have until sundown, my time zone, today, or it's a "stumper" for the blue guy..........
  19. Aaaaah yes, the little "Cold War" aspect of the film, shown early on, great stuff Mike!
  20. As a few guesses have been put forth, here's a clue, the story the film was based on, was written by a famous author, who has not died recently................. "Them little creepy crawly things, I hate 'em, useless.....SHUT UP, ALL OF Y'A!"
  21. Nope, not Charlton Heston in that classic, sorry Dave,.......Strike!! Look at the image Players, it's in there....................
  22. Bzzzzzzz...nnnnooooo! Strike! "Not tonight dear, or any other night!!! I'll always have a headache!!"
  23. I built the Revell Space Station as a kid! Very cool kit, built it, to play with it! Must have been around 8 or 9 years old. Not sure on the others, memories are bit fuzzy that far back... Most "Space" models then, were pretty much oriented to "Real Space" vehicles. "Movie and TV" stuff followed soon after, with Irwin Allen TV shows, and the Star Trek series. Good times.
  24. Sorry Mike, not Roy Scheider, strike!! Great Movie though!!
