  1. Great film! But unfortunately............a STRIKE! DOES FIT THE DESCRIPTION CLUES, BUT THAT ISN'T IT!!
  2. ..........AND ANOTHER........STRIKE!! Not a great film there Dave, stinko-deluxe!!
  3. Oh, and another little clue, the film is a Fantasy as I stated before, but has comedic overtones as well. Now some guesses please players............
  4. Today's clue, the film was released during the "Cold War" era, lots of paranoia in those days!!
  5. Seems to have calmed down now, no more error pages popping up......whew!
  6. JUST IN CASE THE SITE GOES DOWN AGAIN, RED ALERT BOB HESTER!!! JUST GOT 4 IPS DRIVER ALERTS, TRYING TO VISIT THE FORUM, IN CASE WE LOSE COMMUNICATIONS AGAIN, THIS IS TO LET YOU KNOW AS IT JUST HAPPENED IN THE LAST FEW MINUTES!!! NOW, HOPEFULLY, BACK TO OUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMING....................
  7. I "pulled out", of permanent brain damage, 15 minutes into it, thankfully! Truly an awful film, beyond bad............... ........... Even "Plan 9 from Outer Space", considered the "Worst SF film of all time" gave you a few giggles, this offense to the art of filmaking, wasn't even a laugh. nuff' said
  8. Interesting....if you want to get further into that, start a post in the open discussion SF forum, been quiet there lately. I really don't care for remakes of classics, usually disappointing, and kind of an insult to the original, IMHO, I think many will agree on that. Kind of like the Colorization issue of classic BW films, "Citizen Kane", and other magnificent films, by top-notch directors, were filmed that way, and like Hitchcock, used the BW effects in a very special way. What use is it to colorize a "Filme Noire"? Most of the Directors of those films, and many of the Directors considered the best of our time, feel it's a degradation of the Director's true intent. There are so many good stories yet untold, why rehash what was already done to perfection? Good examples of bad remakes are of "War of the Worlds", "The Day the Earth Stood Still", and many others. "Psycho" in color, wouldn't have the same chilling effect as the original, at all. It would be just another "Slasher" film, and there are so many of those already. The BW nuances, in that fantastic film, were skillfully and artistically conceived, and gave the film a really creepy feel. It's an ongoing argument in the realm, and a matter of opinion, but I prefer to see the "real" versions, as they were meant to be seen. Hollywood needs a new batch of creative input, look what they did with "Planet of the Apes". The first one was amazing, the slew of sequels were a joke! Kind of ruined it in my mind, but again, just my opinion.
  9. After the week I had, absolutely! Kidding aside, ......STRIKE!! Gore galore, nasty lil' film...............
  10. Man, that's a really freaky film, so bizarre, it's undescribable...............but a STRIKE!! BURROUGHS was a hard-core "Junk" addict, heroin, methadone, opiates, whatever......it reflects in his extremely bizarre written work. One of the "tame" scenes of this film..............
  11. Nope, wouldn't be "cute" or that obvious, not with Mike D lurking about somewhere, huh, huh......... That's a STRIKE!! The film could easily be called Fantasy, and it deals with all sorts of paranoia.........yep, that's a clue.
  12. OOPS! WRONG PLANET!! First clue, it's an "Earthbound" film, sorry..............STRIKE!! Thanks for becoming a "regular" player jcorley!! Yep, pretty corny all right, but these films led to the far better ones, gotta start somewhere!
  13. Ok players! Our next round begins! A new image for your consideration posted below! No clues given at this time! Good luck, and let the games begin!!
  14. Heard about that, I agree, it's really not a film you could follow up on, as it was a tale that was well told, and had permanent closure. New image presently being worked on, will post in a few moments......................
  15. WITH AN HOUR TO SPARE, WELL DONE MIKE!!!! INDEED, KEPT SAYING "DARK" IN MANY HINTS, NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE CAUGHT IT, UNTIL NOW!!! THE SCENE IS A "DREAM SEQUENCE", MIKE D HAD THAT RIGHT, WHERE DONNY, AND FRIEND, INCLUDING THAT PSYCHO LOOKING, TIME TRAVELLING, RABBIT, ARE IN A FILM THEATER, IN A BW SEQUENCE. VERBAL CLUES MORE OBVIOUS NOW, TOOK PLACE AROUND HALLOWEEN, HENCE THE GUY IN THE RABBIT COSTUME. THE ACTRESS WHO PLAYS THE PRESIDENT IN BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, PLAYS DONNY'S MOM, THE TALENTED MARY MCDONELL. AN EXCELLENT AND DISTURBING FILM!! WELL PLAYED MIKE!! HAPPY YOU WON ANOTHER ROUND!! ANOTHER IMAGE FIRST THING TOMORROW, TOO MUCH STUFF TO TAKE CARE OF TONIGHT, UNTIL THEN.....THANKS FOR PLAYING ALL!
  16. Sorry Dave, that's a STRIKE!! Funny film, and George Carlin was quite good in that as well! I did mention it's a rather dark film, not a comedy, not even close to funny...........
  17. OK, last clue, and if not guessed by 5pm EST today, counts as a "stumper"! As it was the season to be scary, there is a Halloween connection to the film. Now go over the clues carefully, I really have pretty much given it away in there, look again!
  18. That is sad Mike, such a talented guy, so many good movies came from his great books, another "Great One" gone, he shall be missed.
  19. Although I am thrilled at the results of the "Guess which SF film" Game's popularity, I really wanted to see more SF & Fantasy Modeling work images, posted in the SF & Fantasy section. Most of the modeling work I do for clients, is directly connected to Movies and Television shows, so the connection to media productions is quite obvious, and very welcome. But please, do post your current SF, and Fantasy projects, finished or in production, to add some more variety to this section of the IPMS Forum. It's just a suggestion to keep to the main theme of this site, the craft of model making, as well as the associated interests, like the game. I'd like to see as many posts on that, as guesses on our popular game, which is almost the #1 most replied, visited, viewed, whatever... thread, on the Forum, quite amazing actually. So you SF and Fantasy model builders, start posting some of your work!! A more balanced content is my goal, but your input is required, just a happy thought from your humble moderator.
  20. Mick Jagger to the rescue! Sorry Dude, ...............STRIKE!
  21. Wow, Mike, your knowledge of film, local and foreign, really amazes me! I can speak French, so I've seen some great films from that Country. Unfortunately.............a STRIKE! Now, another clue, last one for today, one of the characters in the film, is also a character on a popular SF show!!
  22. AAAaaaahhh The Simpsons, so much fun, for so many years, love that show!! "Army of Darkness" is a blast, and loads of fun, almost an American "Monty Pythonesque" flavor, to that most enjoyable film...........unfortunately..............a STRIKE!!!
  23. No guesses for a while, guess it's time for a clue! The film is quite surreal, and deals with the possibility of time travel, in a very strange way!
  24. As we are back online, here's a bit of progress on the Voyager. Secondary Hull now attached to Primary Hull bottom, top is placed dry fit style, to test the lighting systems before I go further. Mostly film clips in this update, so if you'd like to see the Photon's firing, and Navs and strobes, installed so far, working, please click on the link, update is at the top of the page. http://www.simonmercs.biz/WORKBENCH.html Coming up next, Warp Engines, and a highly detailed, scratch-built, Shuttle Bay!
  25. Well....it seems were back!! Long weekend with no Forum, thank you Bob H!! Our game resumes.........
