  2. Can any of you Fort Worth or Dallas IPMS members tell me if the above Hobby Town Store is still open? Bob Walker - 17121 - [email protected]
  3. I'm really dating myself but I remember building the Patton and the Stalin III. At that stage of my modelling I thought these were really great kits. I think the next stage was the Renwal and Revell 1/40th scale armour. Bob Walker IMPS 17121

  8. I have just completed a Lockheed A-12 in 1/72 scale. I need red decals or dry transfers in red for the tail numbers. I can't seem to find USAF style numbers anywhere. Any suggested sources? This is all that's stopping completing the aircraft. I'd appreciate help here. Thanks. Bob Walker IPMS 17121
  9. Does anyone know of a fairly inexpensive programs that can be purchased for use with Windows 10? I just want to take scans of pictures and manipulate the size of the image to produce 1/72 scale decals. Photoshop is great but its very expensive.
  10. Does anyone know of a decal company that CURRENTLY offers 1/72 scale stars and bars for Vietnam era USAF aircraft. i.e. the small sized ones like on F-100, RF-101 , F-104, F-105, F-4 etc.

    F-22 Colors

I have numerous references on the F-22. It is apparent that the early prototypes were painted in very similar colors to current F-15's. However, the operational versions have a definite metallic finish to all the grays. I assume this is some sort of radar absorbant, or reflective, coating but I can't be sure of that. I have also seen some recent photos of F-15's that appear to have the same metallic coating. Does anyone know of any model paints available to replicate this? If that's not available is there any techniques people have come up with to replicate this finish. Bob Walker IPMS 17121
  12. Hi to all. my name is Bob Walker. I'm 63 years old, retired, and I'm in the process of relocating from Lockport, New York (12 miles from Buffalo) to Mansfield, Texas (south of Dallas.Ft. Worth). I have been an IPMS member for many years. Right now I'm not modelling because all my kits, reference materials, etc. are in storage in Buffalo and won't get here till mid March when my new home is completed. My main modelling interests are 1/72 scale aircraft from the Korean War era and up to today. However, I have started buying 1/72 scale moderm armor and plan to try that as well. I do have some 1/32 scale jets that I'll build some day.
