Hello. I am new to this forum and just started working on a anti-tank (Centauro) vehicle, that I received as a Christmas gift (I did not know I was going to get into it as much as I am!). I am looking at magazines, where some projects were completed with after market parts, like tracks, or other add-ons that you may want to add to your existing pieces from the original kit. Since the magazines seem to be all from the UK, the companies that are mentioned as suppliers of these parts are all located in the E.U. Does anyone have any suggestion as to which company (if any) supplies these after market parts here in the U.S.? Does anyone have any experience with ordering such parts? I am looking on the web, but if anyone has any suggestion on a good supplier please let me know....

thanks

My recommendation would be to check with your local hobby shop(s) first. The large chain shops like Hobby Lobby, while they usually stock lots of neat tools and airbrushing supplies, generally do not stock the after-market that you seek. Hobbytown USA is a different story and they just might stock these items or be able to order them for you.

My next recommendation would be to check out the IPMS/USA Review area. Once on the index page for Reviews, pull down the "Reviews" tool and select Reviews Archive. Using the archive, you can quickly find reviews related to items such as those you seek. While you might not find a specific item you will find the names and urls of companies that produce or sell such items.

Good luck!

Martino,

Welcome. Not sure what you are looking for (a Centauro doesn't use tracks) so your your first stop is your LHS to see what is carried. Next, if you want to stay strickly in the USA, check out Sprue brothers (LIVE inventory), Squadron, TWS, UMM USA, and my favorite RnJ (located in the great Northwest).

Martino,

I order from oversea's supplier's all the time. My hands down favorite is JB models. As Mark suggested Spruce Brothers is a great US on line supply store. They ship fast too. In fact I just received today an order I placed on Wenesday. I'm not sure what you are looking for. There is a lot out there. Can you tell us what you are looking for to replace?

Hannant's in the UK is a great supplier and extremely reliable. You can save on postage if you and several friends go together on an order on goods not normally available in the US and split the postage. If you are a member of a local club, you might even mention it there to see if anyone wants to participate. Only provision, they pay up front.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am not looking for any item in particular, I am just curious as to which avenue might be best if/when I decide to purchase any after-market parts, since I noticed many articles in specialized magazines refer to them..... This was helpful
