RobMorales Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 The old Tamiya kit, nothing fancy...
Mark Aldrich Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Looks great. I picked up a couple of the newer MiniArt releases and can't believe the number of parts in them! I think I threw my IDF version together in a weekend and that was with the scratch built parts!
RobMorales Posted September 16, 2011 Author Report Posted September 16, 2011 Thanks, Mark! Sometimes you just can't beat the simplicity of the "classic" Tamiya kits.
Mark Aldrich Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Not just simplistic! Looks good too!!!
802chrisg Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Rob, Great job on this one. I love the Tamiya kits. It seems to me that a lot of the newer kits are making you put togther several part to make one step as compared to the Tamiya kits that can mold the same part in one piece and have all the detail and still look great. Seems to me that they are just driving up the parts count to say look five zillion parts inside. You know what I mean. Ok back to your build. The weathering inside and out is spot on and makes this model really pop. Chris
Warwheels Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Nice job on a classic kit. Cheers.
RobMorales Posted September 20, 2011 Author Report Posted September 20, 2011 Thanks, guys! Patrick, I am finishing up a Stryker (the M1126 from Trumpeter) and would like to submit it to Warwheels when done.
RGronovius Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 I love it. That kit had a lot of "playability" when I was younger. It's one I wouldn't mind stumbling across at a flea market or yard sale for small money and building it again.
