Mark Deliduka Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 Now that all the excitement and activity from the display are all over; and the collection is packed away again, I was finally able to get a good amount of progress done on some models I've wanted to build for awhile. These are the results. Three new aircraft have been completed. All of them are British, starting with this 1/72 scale Bobcat British Harrier training jet: That was given to me by a friend as a gift. Next are two British Biplanes, starting with the Cooperativa 1/72 scale British Fairey Swordfish: Followed by the Matchbox 1/72 scale British Fairey Seafox floatplane, used on the HMS Arethusa cruiser as a scout plane: Both the Swordfish and Seafox were rigged with stretched sprue. And that's all I have so far. Thank you for looking in at three of the eight models I finished this month, comments are always welcome. 1
VMF211 Posted February 23 Report Posted February 23 Nice work!! That Seafox was not a fun kit if my memory serves me right so very nice job on that!
Mark Deliduka Posted February 23 Author Report Posted February 23 Thank you Keith! I was actually surprised at how well my Sea fox went together. It was when wings and floats started breaking off that I got frustrated. Still, I pushed through and got those birds rigged.
ghodges Posted February 24 Report Posted February 24 Excellent trio and a great way to show you're "back in the saddle" Duke! Gotta say that I've never even heard of either Cooperative nor Bobcat kits before your builds of them and that only the Brits could take an ugly plane like the Harrier and stretch it to make it even uglier! Thanks for sharing your triumphs with us! Gil
Mark Deliduka Posted February 24 Author Report Posted February 24 Thank you Gil! Yeah, Cooperativa is an Eastern European company and it's been reported that they make the most accurate Swordfish in 1/72 scale. I don't remember how I got this one (I think it was a Distressed Kit) but I surely wanted to build it. Bobcat models are almost toy-like, geared towards young kids and simple and easy to build. I have a Bobcat set of Airfield support vehicles that I started some time ago. and yeah, that Harrier is an ugly one indeed. I don't understand why they had to extend the tail like that oin a training aircraft, but maybe it has sensors that record every new pilot's mistakes or something. 1
