I built this to give to my pastor who served as a maintenance officer with VA-105, the Gunslingers. I may add some "remove before flight" tags and add some wheel chocks later when I get it into final "presentation" form; but it's otherwise done. This was an extensive build that is chronicled up in the "Build" section of this Aircraft topic area if you're curious as to how much went into it, the problems that had to be surmounted, and any of the techniques used to do so and in building vacs. The squadron markings were home made since their are no VA-105 decals available in `1/32 for the A-7E (only the F-18 they now fly).

The model has a lot of warts in it.... but hopefully he'll appreciate it for what it is, a gift to recognize his 20yrs of service.

Questions, critiques, and comments welcome, as always!

Picked up the display case I had made for the A-7E and got the decking for it done today. I also added a squadron patch and made the "E&M" shield for Excellence in Maintenance to honor his 20yr career which ended with his being a maintenance officer. This is the final product that I'll be giving to my pastor.

That would make a nice video. Record the presentation and share it.

Buddy.......if that kit has any warts in it......you sure seemed to have ironed out the vast majority of them because I sure can't see any in the finished product. Gifts like this are just priceless to the recipient, in this case to your pastor, and is a true joy to give away. I've done this a couple of times with an old Revell 1/48 Corsair that I gave to an old friend of mine and then an AMT '59 El Camino that I gave to my son's friend as a Christmas present.

You done good on this one @ghodges Gil.
