dcaponeII
I built these two vehicles from the Revell 1/48 Mercury plus RealSpace Models Resin conversion. Shepard's Freedom 7 uses the shell from the resin set along with the resin nose and LES components from the kit and the resin set. The cross braces are stretched sprue. The heat shield and retro pack are castings of the Revell kit parts which will be hidden when the vehicle is mounted on the Redstone that is currently under construction from two Glencoe Jupiter C vehicles. Sigma 7 was built using the kit shell, the resin on-orbit nose from the RealSpace set and a bit of scratchbuilding in the interior.

dcaponeII
Thank you. I've started on the Gemini Spacecraft next and then I'll get to the Redstone Booster conversion. I don't like having partially built kits floating around and the Gemini came with the Mercury kit.

dcaponeII
The Sigma 7 didn't place at Ft. Worth this past weekend but the porthole version took first place mounted on a Redstone Conversion I did using two Glencoe Jupiter C kits and some scratch building. Here's a photo from the contest of the Redstone.
