catdude01 Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Hi: This is my second attempt working with a resin bust, this time a wonderful kit from Young Miniatures. Its was a second hand purchase, so some parts where missing like the helmet and the gun sling, but still a good one to practice my painting skills. Hope you like the results. 1
ewahl Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 Hi, Pedro, This is an overall excellent model. The skin tones and gunmetal treatment are very impressive. What type and brand of paints did you use? Ed
catdude01 Posted February 26, 2016 Author Report Posted February 26, 2016 Hi: Its was a mix of tamiya and vallejo colors. The skin was all vallejo. The uniform was a mix of tamiya Flat green and flat blue with a dot of white. The eyes took me 9 tries.
Roktman Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Wonderful job! Nice work on the skin painting. 9 tries at the eye? I hear ya on that. They look good!! One trick I learned is never make the figure look directly at the viewer. Have him look to either side, up or down, and the eye painting will be easier. 1
catdude01 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 Thank You Kevin! Well is my second figure I can't expect a Picasso, but I'm pleased with the results. Still learning the blending stuff, layering, etc. Thank for the tip on the eyes, I will on the next figure! 1
