GHonanie Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Here is my A-1E Skyraider from RVHP in progress. As some know I am doing a review on this subject, a first look was done earlier this month. wing shot is comparing the Hasegawa wing with armor and sanded off non-armor as per 1/1 version, fuselage comparison with ancient Monogram kit. Will be done in two tone COIN grey/white as aquired from Navy stockpiles. Kit decals(great set though) aren't useable for the version they present as some extra mods are required(not up to it).
ghodges Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Looking good! Here's some pics you may or may not need..... More to follow... GIL
ghodges Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Last 5 pics... Hope these help! Cheers! GIL
pyrman Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Well....that's interesting. I've never seen an a/c with blue skylights before- very cool.
GHonanie Posted April 22, 2009 Author Report Posted April 22, 2009 Well....that's interesting. I've never seen an a/c with blue skylights before- very cool. Blue tint was used to help cut down on glare in the back, if A/C was equiped temporarly with ECM gear or electronics.
GHonanie Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Posted April 23, 2009 Hey Gil, Do have a pic just past the oil cooler intake underneath the plane?
ghodges Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 No, the only one is the pic above of the oil cooler intake. You can see the depression just behind it, and it is just that; a depression. The depiction of that area on your wing bottoms appears to be close to correct, with the exception of what appears to be a section of centerline pylon that has been molded in too. Hope this helps some. GIL
GHonanie Posted April 23, 2009 Author Report Posted April 23, 2009 seen other modelers just cover up this area and yes that center section is part of the center line rack.
