  1. Yup, no doubt what was in the rear view mirror with those colors. Nice job on it. Send it into the scale firehouse, I'd love to put it on the site.
  2. Well at least with Future they might think you are actually cleaning.
  3. I always use Future as a dull coat. Having experienced some bad reactions from base colors and enamel or other dull coats I tried it and never had an issue. I don't use lighter fluid though. I mix about 70% Future to 30% Flat Base. Works like a charm and it's acrylic so it dries fast and is safe over any base colors. And not to mention cheap in the long run since it also doubles as a gloss coat.
  4. You know the cranky and old man just opens up for so many comments. At least I have a good 24 hours almost to work on them.
  5. Looks pretty nice.
  6. I am disappointed in ya, we have an excellent tutorial on a home made vacuum forming set up right there on the GMM homepage. NO cookies for you Tuesday night. http://www.mountainmodelers.org/main_tutorials.html
  7. I have a Blue Angels plane of some sort that is great proof of the tape trick. Masked right over them with out thinking. Thought a bunch of things when I pulled it off.
  8. I think the most important tip is PATIENCE! PE can really test that at times.
  9. Clare is right, taking stuff to contests is not bad even if you don't think you will win. I never expect to win but take if for nothing else to have folks look at what I built and to sometimes get a judge to look at it with me and point out things that I could improve. As long as I like it though, that's all that matters and of coarse I am my own worst critic anyway.
  10. Nice job. Everything complements everything else just right.
