  1. Thanks Noel for the nice comments! As for your question yes the roadsters can be entered in the IPMS Nationals. I have entered several 1/43 scale scale white metal kits in the various "Small Scale Automotive" classes (1/32 scale and smaller) at several IPMS USA Nationals over the years. I would love to bring "Old Calhoun" and several other of my small scale builds "Across The Pond" to show at Telford one year. Scale Modelworld is a show on my "bucket list"!
  2. Thank you Gary! They were alot of fun to build. I got couple more 1/43 scale vintage Indy cars I want to build in the next couple of months.
  3. I have not posted anything in awhile so I thought I would post some pictures my recently completed pair of 1963 Indy Novi Roadsters in 1/43 scale. These are white metal 1/43 scale kits from SMTS that took a little more than a month to build. I added some detail here and there to each model. They were a lot of fun to build and I was really happy with the end result.

  13. A 1/43 scale Weslake Eagle F1 I did 2 years ago. Built from an SMTS kit..
  14. Thank you Gary! That means a lot coming from such a talented builder as yourself!!
  15. After 2 Years I finally finished my build of Parnelli Jones's 1963 Indy 500 Winning Watson Roadster. Nicknamed "Ole Calhoun its one of the last of the front engine Indy roadsters to win Indy (The last roadster to win the 500 was in 1964 when AJ Foyt crossed the line first with his Watson roadster.) The Indy Roadsters of this era were some of the most beautiful race cars ever to race and many would argue "Ole Calhoun" was one best looking By 1965 virtually all of these front engine beasts were rendered obsolete with the onslaught of European rear engine F1 style racers. So this car represents a time of transition for Indy.. I started with a 50 year old original AMT kit which I proceeded to modify extensively over a 2 year period to get it to look "Right" I finished this build earlier this week just in time for the IPMS Nationals in Columbia SC I have extensive work in progress picture library on My facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/andy.caldwell.948/media_set?set=a.10203741673887813.1073741849.1397358827&type=3&pnref=story The Indy Car modeling forums at http://indycarmodeling.proboards.com/thread/1626/parnelli-jones-watson-roadster-finished The Open Wheel modeling forums at http://mb2501.proboards.com/thread/7302/parnelli-jones-watson-roadster-finished Anyway here are completed pictures of the build
