PeteJ Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 I have documents that indicate that my father did a split S in a PBY-5 to get away from a Japanese night fighter one evening while flying the slot. Having flow heavies in the USAF I was stunned to read the story. This had to be a move of pure despiration.
