Mark Deliduka Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Just a quick post. This is my MPC 1/72 scale C-130A Hercules transport. The decals suck on this; they were as thick as vacuform and I used Tamiya Extra Thin cement to get them to lay down. But the props look good; I can't tell which is the one I had to fix. Here it is: It's no award winner, but I'm happy that I have it done. I also finished three Japanese tanks. You can see them in the Armor Forums. Thanks for looking in.

ewahl Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 Hi, Mark, I like the look of a 1960s camo on your C-130A. Is this a standard pattern used by MAC aircraft on all their C-130s (per some Tech Order)? Or did you have your own scheme as you painted it? The props as you repaired them look great. Your how-to photos clearly showed your creativity in scratchbuilding them. Could you have made a rubber mold from a good blade and then cast some copies in resin? Just a thought. Ed

I also love the look of Hercs in SEA camo; that's why I had to build this plane, warts and all. As far as I know, that pattern was standard for all MAC birds serving in SEA. I remember looking at them sitting on the tarmac at Hurlburt Field and they all looked pretty much the same. Thanks for the compliment on the prop repair. I don't have a casting kit or resin to cast anything, so this was the only way to go for me. I don't like working in resin too much anyway, but I still find myself building more and more resin conversion sets. Thanks again for the great comments guys!
