A Parade Of Finished 1/72 Scale Halftracks!

Greetings gentlemen!

For awhile now I've been working on seven German halftracks of the SdKfz 251 variety. I can finally declare them finished! Here they are for your perusal. I have them in two posts since there is a limit to how many pics fit on a post.

I'll start out with my Dragon 1/72 scale German SdKfz 251 Ausf C. This was the standard APC for the Germans; at least in their fully mechanized units:

Next is my Dragon 1/72 scale German SdKfz 251/2 Ausf C (riveted) with mortar:

Another Ausf C, this is the Dragon 1/72 scale German SdKfz 251/7 Ausf C Pioneer Panzerwagen:

Another Ausf C, this time it is the Dragon 1/72 scale German SdKfz 251/2 Ausf C with the rockets:

This last Ausf C is the ancient ESCI 1/72 scale German SdKfz 251/1 with the rockets:

In this next post, these last two halftracks are Ausf D's. This first one is the Dragon 1/72 scale German SdKfz 251/7 Ausf D with the 2.8cm sPzB 41 Anti Tank gun:

This last one is the Dragon 1/72 scale German SdKfz 251/2 Ausf D with the rockets:

That is all of them completed. Here is the final pic of the whole 'family'!

Just for fun, here are a couple of comparison pics for you to see. This first one shows my first 1/72 scale ESCI SdKfz 251 halftrack with the rockets on the left and my latest one on the right. The one on the left was built when I was 10.

Quite the difference in finish there. My next pic shows a different comparison: the ancient ESCI kit and the new state-of-the-art Dragon model:

Man that really shows the differences that technology has brought!

Anyway, my German Army has now taken delivery of these. I do hope you like them. As always, thank you for looking and comments are welcome.

Lookin' good, Duke! Love the comparison shot with the two models...neat to see the difference in our skills over time.

Thanks Keith! Yeah, I thought I'd throw that in there. I also like the comparison between the ESCI and the Dragon kit too. It's amazing sometimes, seeing the differences in what we used to accept as state-of-the-art and what is currently state-of-the-art, especially when building it.

Great Work - Thanks for sharing!

Looks like I have to dig out some of my past projects and get moving!

Happy Holidays!
