nagatoman Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Hello, My name is Derek, my main interest is 1/350 ships, mainly battleships of WW2. I have one plaques at 2 IPMS Nationals (2004 Phoenix, and 2007 Anaheim) in the ffigure diorama categories. I started building ships in 2008 and I have found what I really enjoy building ships. The challenge is the main thing for me, so hopefully I can get good enough to enter some contests......God bless America
Mark Deliduka Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Welcome Derek! We may have met at Anaheim, although now there's no way of knowing of course! That was my club's Nationals, and my first one. What a blast I had! Congrats on the awards, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of your ships now.

Spaceclipper Posted November 7, 2011 Report Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Hi Derek, good to have you on the forums. I enjoy 1/350 ships as well but has been a while since I've built one. Picked up a Lindberg Bismark. Old mold and not to today's standards but also not at today's prices either. Purchased it at Ollies outlet for $15. Couldn't go wrong at that price. The pricing of the import brands are going out of sight for ship models in this scale, especially if you add in some after market PE and wooden decks and your quickly in the $400 range. ouch...
