Mark Deliduka Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 This one is not in my scale, but I completed it for a friend of mine. He had worked on this plane in his youth and always wanted a model of it. Now he will get one. This the Monogram 1/48th scale F-106 Delta Dart I built for my friend Rick Thomas: Tomorrow, he will get it. I'll post pics when I finish giving this to him. Thanks all for looking.
ewahl Posted November 24, 2010 Report Posted November 24, 2010 Hi, Mark, Your paint job on this large fuselage and wing looks very good--smooth and semi-gloss in the photos. I looked carefully how you picked out details in the armament bay and wheel wells with different colors from the basic OD. Your friend should be quite pleased. Did he give you specific unit markings, or did you just use the supplied Monogram decals? Regardless, great job on a great gift! Happy Thanksgiving. Ed
ghodges Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Wonderful 106 Duke! A true act of friendship that your buddy I'm sure will cherish. That's a good looking build.......perhaps 1/48 is your TRUE calling! Thanks for sharing! GIL

I do appreciate that, especially coming from such a great modeler. I simply used the decals from the kit; he had no preference for any specific markings. I'll be deliveringn itr on Saturday or Sunday. Wonderful 106 Duke! A true act of friendship that your buddy I'm sure will cherish. That's a good looking build.......perhaps 1/48 is your TRUE calling! Thanks for sharing! GIL Thanks Gil! He sure enjoyed the F-102 I'd built for him before. As for 1/48 being my true calling, I don't think so. I enjoy 1/72 scale too much. One of my biggest frustrations with this model is that it took so long because of all the extra parts and detail to attend too! I'lll be happy to go back to my favorite scale.
