JayMesawitz Posted February 14, 2010 Author Report Posted February 14, 2010 The model is representative of just slightly older than you mention Ed, 1960 through late 60's. The kit actually depicts the 1966 bike of Mike Hailwood at the Isle of Man TT race.

I looked in my collection and found the 1/9 scale Protar kit of the Yamaha RD-56 250cc two-stroke racer that was the World Champion in 1964, 1965, 1968, and 1970. Yamaha fielded this bike in direct competition with the four- and six-cylinder Hondas. I should build it. Back in that day I owned a Yamaha TD-1B 250cc racer, but I found that road racing was not my best skill. I retired before I broke any bones, or my head. Ed
