Greetings everyone. New on this forum. I’ve never posted here before though I’ve posted on other forums before for decades.

I know the rules differ from site to site but what are they here concerning the posting of build pics and swastikas? I know in another site I post they’re not allowed and must be hidden as a spoiler alert or, simply mosaicked out (blurred, etc.). So what’s the rules here. Pardon my ignorance I searched but couldn’t get the answer perhaps I’m looking in the wrong place.

Oh, also is it okay to have your own website (non-commercial) posted within a post like I did here or is it a no-no? Just wondering.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeff and welcome! As a l-o-n-g time user/poster on this forum I know of no rules preventing the posting of historically correct markings on this forum, including swastikas where applicable on aircraft and vehicles. This is a USAS based model building site and we understand that the display of such things simply denotes a builder's wish for historical accuracy and in NO way implies any "endorsement" of any "regime" from the past or present.

As for the personal "corporate" link.... my understanding is that it's ok as long as you clearly point out exactly what the link is to and for; and in no way leads to any "bait and switch" linkage. It's the reader's choice as to whether or not to use the link, but the link should be model related since this is a modeling forum.

Hopefully Eric the webmaster will be along soon to correct me if I've misspoken about the rules here!

Hey Jeff! Welcome!

Gil hit it on the head.

Historically correct markings are allowed as I interpret the rules (click above in the header >Browse >Guidelines). And, yes, you may post your own website!

Dive in! Glad to have you aboard!

Oh wow okay and thanks! Really appreciate it. I just didn’t want to ruffle admin’s feathers (aka David lol) as the other website is international in origin and has restrictions as such. My little link is just that…my own little blogger website for builds I make in order to perhaps get someone else interested in our hobby. Definitely no bait and switch. I own it.

Thanks again and I really appreciate the info!

Jeff

One thing to keep in mind is that in some countries in Europe it is illegal to display the swastika in any form anywhere, which would include websites.
