Sliding in JUST under the wire.....

I was able to get my 1/144 Airfix L-1011 done, despite the first set of decals (old ATP decals) shattering 10 days ago. GREAT service from Joy Decals allowed me to get the Classic Airlines decals for the early Eastern Whisperliner scheme. The model was built OOTB, except for replacing the overly thick kit gear doors with ones made from thinner sheet plastic.

Being an older Airfix kit, it came with clear plastic windows for the fuselage. Instead, I closed up the window holes using ApoxySculp. The great thing about doing it this way is the excess putty that squeezes out the windows can be smoothed and removed with a finger wet with alcohol, saving a lot of sanding.

The kit windshield was used to fill that area but it was sanded and blended in with no thought to keeping it clear. The rest of the kit parts were used as is.

I started this model to have something to do while waiting for paint to dry on the 1/32 Panther I was building. There's nothing special to to it except it gets me to an even 20 built for 2024!
