Young Miniatures 1/10 Templar in Jerusalem. In reading about these knights, I learned the sergeants wore a brown tunic. I chose this scheme for a little unique flavor. The shield is weathered with pastels. The face is painted with the AK Gen 3 flesh tones and hte rest in Vallejo acrylics.

Excellent work, but please tell me how you "blend" acrylics? Don't they dry too fast and once they dry you can't redissolve them to get them to blend. What's the secret?

Thanks. Couple things, well thinned paint., applied in thin layers...I recently learned that proprietary thinner works best (thank you Calvin Tan!), a wet palette available online for about $30  see link) and fine brushes. In the last year, I started adding AK Interactive Gen 3 paints to my assortment of Vallejos. I've heard the new line of Vallejo is a big improvement over their traditional formulation.

Thanks for that info, but while that gizmo keeps the paint 'wet' between sessions, what about the paint on the figure. Doesn't that dry and if so then its unblendable. I probably should just watch some videos on it being done as I am a visual learner.

Again, going back to the Calvin Tan presentation at MFCA...he uses very thin applications of paint, a glaze. The color below still shows, but it has been tinted by the color above. Here's a link to Calvin's YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm1tCPuHA5oobFlFeCdcPZg/videos
