Have you tried the low-tack (blue label) Scotch Magic tape? Or drafting tape (if the stuff is still made)?

 

 

yes I have the blue tape from scotch but don't know if it is magic tape I got it from a home improvement store

If it's Scotch blue label and it looks frosted like their green label, then it is the low-tack variety. And Scotch now also makes a removable tape for wrapping packages that is low-tack as well.
