philp Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Over 5 years ago a member of the whatifmodelers forum posted a story regarding what may have happened if the Louisiana Purchase didn't take place. In the scenario the current US ended at the Mississippi River, France still owned the Purchase territory, Mexico contained California, Arizona and New Mexico, Russia held Washington and Oregon and Utah was a separate country. I was lucky to have one of the talented artists there do up my idea for one of their planes using markings designed in the original thread. used with the artists permission And here is my interpretation of the plane using the Academy P-51D in 72nd scale.
ghodges Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 Wow! That's a P-51 of a different color! Congrats on a very nice and imaginative build! GIL
Nortley Posted March 4, 2015 Report Posted March 4, 2015 If these planes had been powered by the Chrysler inverted V engines, they would have been Mopar Mustangs, and Ford would have needed another name for their pony car.
