  7. Agree that Paasche H1 is a classic. I'll try to restore these airbrushes to working condition, if for no other reason than to honor my brother's memory. If I can get them back to working conditions I'd even use them from time to time.

  12. I’m with you, Ron. To me, the single action Paasche H1 is the AK -47 of airbrushes: neglect it, abuse it, fail to clean it adequately- it works perfectly every time. And I have done some pretty fine work with the small tip and obtained great results. After several flirtations with fancier, balky and temperamental double action airbrush’s, I now use the Paasche H1 exclusively! Nick

  18. The IPMS-USA recently began receiving items for review from Gaahleri. The company is relatively new and first introduced airbrushes and has since expanded into the production of their own line of paints. In addition to their individual and sets of paints, they have also released their own Cleaner, which can be used on both paint brushes and airbrushes. This cleaner is advertised as being non-toxic, odorless, non-flammable, and safe for the environment by Gaahleri. View the full review
  19. The IPMS-USA recently began receiving items for review from Gaahleri. The company is relatively new and first introduced airbrushes and has since expanded into the production of their own line of paints. Kaleido ColorWorks is their premium sub-brand of water-based paints, which are developed with RapidAir Technology. In addition to all the individual colors, Gaahleri also has sets of paint available for consumers. View the full review
  20. Ian Baxter is a respected historian and an author I actively seek out for his insight and amazing photographs for World War II. This book continues its amazing legacy, does not disappoint, and is worth the price for the photographs alone. Following the familiar Pen & Sword Images of War series is the story of Tanks and Armour in Ukraine 1941–1944. Each chapter starts with a brief history of the topic covered, followed by a lot of photographs to complement the text. This book is composed of the following: View the full review
  21. Neverland Hobby has provided this beautiful new tool release of the German armored version of the classic G Wagen, in this 1/35 scale. Ten Tan SpruesOne Clear SprueOne Photo Etch setOne Mask setOne Decal sheetSix rubber tiresSix rubber bushesOne Metal foil decal sheetSet of four 3D printed resin partsOne Instruction guideThe detail quality is excellent in every way with this kit; crisp and detailed molding, as I have seen on other Neverland Hobby kits. The Assembly is quick and easy. You must select which version you are going to build before you start, I chose version -B based on a vehicle on Kabul service in 2009. View the full review
  22. When I received this set, I thought the parts were too small to be 1/32 scale. Turns out the Tunnan has a round fuselage with all the gear contained within it. This allows for very short landing gear legs. SAC appears to have duplicated the kit parts in their usual soft white metal. My research indicates the landing gear in the base kit is tricky to install, so don’t expect the fit you might get from other brands these days. I also read comments about the need for stronger main gear legs since the completed model has a bit of heft to it. View the full review
  23. HistoryThe Kokusai Ta-Go (Ki-128) was a dedicated Kamikaze attack plane designed to use non-strategic war materials in its construction. Developed by Captain Yoshiyuki Mizuyama at the Japanese Army Aerotechnical Research Institute in Tokyo, his idea was to produce a simple aircraft that could be produced in small workshops. He initially had some issues in getting his design approved and produced by the Tachikawa company at first. After having some production setbacks, he went to the Nippon Kokusai Company, which eventually gave him the backing to move forward with his project. View the full review
  24. I have a Paache "H" model that I have been using for over 30 years and it still works fine. I'm sure it can't do all the intricate fancy stuff that other airbrushes can, but then again, I'm not skilled enough to pull that off anyway.
  25. Yep. I think there are a sufficient number of potential sources that I ought to be able to restore the airbrushes I have in the collection. Thanks to those who replied to my query.
  26. I got 2 more important steps completed today.... I added the vent louvers to the nose and also vacked and built up the engine crankcase cooling cover. I cut 1/4 round strip plastic pieces to as consistent a size as I could and then placed each one individually. There's more than 50 louvers on 7 of the nose panels. Note the the very top nose panel is the only one with a slightly different pattern to its louvers. I made the form for the cooler cover by sawing off the front of a 1/32 engine crankcase and then vacking over it on my Mattel machine.. The cooling slots were added by drilling and trimming each one. Here you can see how it fits to the engine, as well as the partially closed cooling slots. The slot doors were made by cutting thin triangular pieces of white plastic tape and pressing them into position on the inside. Each one was then superglued in place permanently. I've since also primered the louvers on the nose. Getting close to gluing the fuselage to the wings. More pics after it starts resembling an actual model airplane! Gil

MosquitoCon is an annual one day contest with a large turnout of models (over 500) and modelers. 2027 will be our 35th show. We get a large turnout of vendors as well - generally 80-100 tables. Modelers and visistors come from many surrounding states and further.

ValleyCon 2027 in early April will be our 36th edition, for a club that was founded in 1991 (no show in 2020). We are an established Region 1 event which kicks off the new year for many/most New England modelers. As a local-level event, we average 100 modelers, 350 models in our contest, and approximately 300 walk-in visitors. In addition, we now offer a Display Only area (6 eight-foot tables) which were completely filled during our 2026 event, just recently concluded. We have access to a seperate vendor room that holds 55 tables, in addition to the Club Table (whereMembers turn Stash-Into-Cash), which is to our knowledge the largest such vendor arrangement among the New England chapters.
