burner12
Does anybody know what the black stain along a Demon's fuselage is from?
phantomordie
That's really a good one Richard. I worked on the old Demons in 61 and 62 as an Ordnanceman so I have no idea. Its an exhaust port probably from the engine compartment. It is exhaust soot that the plane captains would have to keep cleaned off. Mabye some mech will answer in . burner12
I didn't know if it was exhaust or a vent. Plus I thought it was too far back fr4om the combustion chamber to be related to that. Must have been a pain for plane captains to keep clean, Thanks John
WildBill50
Hi Richard, In the "F-3 Demon in Action" book, it states it is from the cooling air exhaust vent. Hope that helps. Bill
