Mark Deliduka Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 This is my latest aircraft from Lindbergh, a 1/72 scale F/A-18 Hornet flown by Capt. Steve "Eagle" Hiller in the movie "Independence Day". For a Lindbergh kit, it sure came out looking pretty good! Enjoy! Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome!
ghodges Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 Nice Hornet! It is a much better shaped model than I would expect from "Lindberg", and I've built my share of those too. Also nice to see some movie markings! Congrats Duke! GIL
Mark Deliduka Posted July 20, 2012 Author Report Posted July 20, 2012 Thanks Gil! Yeah, I'm also surprised at how well this looks. I'm gonna have to try a few more Lindbergh kits to see if they look just as good as this!
ghodges Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 (edited) BEWARE of the OLD Lindberg stuff....the biplanes are GOOD! Their Jenny, Se-5A, F-11C Goshawk, and P-6E all build up nicely. However, the WWII fighters SUCK, shape-wise! The 50's jets are also primitive, BUT their one saving grace is that almost all of them (the F11 Tiger, Cutlass, Skyray, F-86A, A4 Skyhawk, etc.) are the PROTOTYPE versions! So, IF you want to build that, then the Lindberg jets will fit the bill. The other down side to them is that despite their age, they're outrageously priced for their quality! I've built some of them, but only out of sheer desperation! GIL Edited July 21, 2012 by ghodges
Mark Deliduka Posted July 21, 2012 Author Report Posted July 21, 2012 Thanks for the heads up on that info. I'll watch out for those you mentioned.
