I'm making plans to attend next year's Nationals.  If you want to display and enter a model, do you need to plan to be there the entire time?  I'm making travel plans.

Joe, as long as you get there before Friday night when registration ends, you should still be able to register and enter your model(s) that you bring. You don't need to be there all four days, but it is one thing I do recommend you do one year as the experience is mind-blowing sensory overload. Not to mention the incredible people you meet.

I see wargaming is one of your interests,  have members organized gaming between events or evenings? eg Avalon Hill Diplomacy or other AH games?

Joe, I am a member of a group called the St. Crispin's Irregulars which is a group that gets together every Monday, every second Saturday of the month and the Friday before for our Hobby Days. We do tabletop wargaming, terrain building, model building and painting, figure painting, board games,  and any other hobbies you can think of. Our chapter is part of a larger organization known as the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society/Pacific Southwest (HMGS/PSW). As part of that group, we hold game conventions and outreach programs throughout the community over the course of a year. At our hall, we have a full library of Avalon Hill games which are available to anyone who wants to come in and play them. One group always holds their Flames of War tournaments there; and another member is the World Champion DBA (De Bellus Antiquitatus) player, beating out players from all over the world. Another member is well known and highly respected as a DnD and miniature player who's been instrumental in building up awareness and popularity of so many games. I have played Flames of War, Fire and Maneuver (home-brewed rules) Lord of the Rings, Full Thrust, and  number of other games. Finally, I'm the HMGS/PSW Team Leader who takes a team of game demonstrators to the San Diego Comicon to demonstrate games every year.

I should stop now as this is a Model Forums. LOL! 😜

Sounds interesting, but I live in Virginia.

Thank you. It is fun, but I understand the commute for you would be a massive bear. If you're ever in So Cal, just give me a holler and maybe you'll get to attend one day/

In addition, it is highly recommended that if you are entered in the competition that your model remain Saturday until awards.   If you bring a model for display in the Tiger Meet you can leave early with your model by checking out with the attendants
