ctruss53 Posted July 26, 2023 Report Posted July 26, 2023 (edited) I recently completed the 1935 Mercedes Benz 500K kit from Johan. I have never built a scale hot rod before, and this kit told me it wanted to be a hot rod. So I added some hot rod touches to the supercharged straight eight and put straight pipe. I cut off the fenders and running boards, and I put some bomber seats inside. The wheels, tires, and finned drum brakes are from the new 29 Ford kit from Revell. Body color is Rotbraun RAL 8012 from Mission Models. Gloss clear is Mr Super Clear UV Cut from Mr Hobby. Wheels are painted BBS Gold over black primer. And all chrome work is SMS Hyperchrome. I bought the latest re-pop of the 29 Ford from Revell. But then this Mercedes kit found me at a swap meet. I couldn't help it, I had to hot rod it.
