Zglossip Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 I am building a revell 1:48 scale spitfire mk-ix and cant seem to figure out what color to paint the bottom of the aircraft. Id also prefer it to be acrylic and model master.
aAzZ09 Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Z: Most RAF Spitfires had Medium Sea Gray painted on the undersides. I see no problem with Testors Model Master Acrylic paints either. You shouldn't have any problems. Best, Mark
Guest PetrolGator Posted January 18, 2014 Report Posted January 18, 2014 Zach, I use a LOT of Model Master paints. I tend to use distilled water to thin them and have no issues what so ever. Good paint.
Zglossip Posted January 18, 2014 Author Report Posted January 18, 2014 Thanks for replying but model master only has light sea grey wouild that work. 1
aAzZ09 Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Zach: At this point, (if you prefer),try experimentation by mixing some darker shades of acrylic gray, if you can, with an RAF reference color chip , to match Medium Sea Gray. If not, see if you can find that color if offered by other manufacturers. Best, Mark Thanks for replying but model master only has light sea grey wouild that work.
