Dick Montgomery Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 I don't always build armor, but when I do I usually build something without tracks. Here is the recently finished Tamiya Type 166 Schwimmwagen in 35th scale. Use the link to view the 4 images within the slide show. Guest PetrolGator Posted January 13, 2014 Report Posted January 13, 2014 Haha. Cool little build there, Dick. I love that rusty mess you got on top of the vehicle.
Mark Aldrich Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 HAHA.....That's NOT armor.......This is ARMOR...... Beautiful work on a armor "wanna be"!!!!! 1
Dick Montgomery Posted January 14, 2014 Author Report Posted January 14, 2014 Yeah...but mine can float and yours makes a great 30 ton anchor! And besides, your "finish" is superior and mine is an "I don't care." Project. (An IDC project is one done just for the fun of it with the final outcome irrelevant to the enjoyment.) Hmm... perhaps my next foray into the armor arena will be a gun of some type. .... we'll see.
Mark Aldrich Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Dick, It should ALWAYS be about the enjoyment!!!!! While I get frustrated during almost ALL my builds, I remind myself that this is for fun and enjoyment. If that doesn't work, I throw it in the trash!!!! If you want a nice gun kit, Check out either of Trumpys new 122mm D-30s! They are really nice. However, the amount of flash on mine was really surprising for a newer release and the way they attach the parts to the sprues really had me flimflamed about removing them and not damaging the parts. :Smile_sceptic:
802chrisg Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Well Dick you did build a armor piece. It falls into the soft skin/wheeled vehicle catagory. Good effort, great rusty exhaust. And don't play any attention to Mark. I don't want to see another civil war break out only this time TX vs WA. As long as you build anything armor I'm a happy camper. :army7: P.S. What the heck does Mark know about German WWII stuff anyway, I thought all he builds is IDF and Middle east war stuff. Just saying. :Smile-tongue: Chris :Smile_sceptic:
Dick Montgomery Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) Mark's ok, even though he builds things with treads.....and not WWII era at that! Thinking about an 88mm Flak Gun....don't know....got several other types of models on the workbench now.... Edited January 15, 2014 by Dick Montgomery
Mark Aldrich Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 OMG!!!!! Obviously some members never saw my Collection before I opted to build Middle East Wars! I was in Germany when the rate was 6.50 on the dollar! The hobby shop in Bad Kissingen LOVED me. I had two or more of EVERYTHING Tamiya ever produced. It was funny when I started selling them off on ebay! I had to explain about the Historical markings being painted out on the box, instructions and decals. Also, The Syrians used the Panzer III, IV, Stug III and IV so I do know about WWII German armor! Now that I think about it, I wonder why they didn't get any Kubelwagens?????
802chrisg Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 I Stand Corrected! Chris :Smile_sceptic:
Mark Aldrich Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Chris, No need to stand! Kick back and pull up a chair!!! HaHa!!!
