  1. After receiving 819 surveys (and we want to thank EVERYONE who took the time to respond to our survey) casting a vote for the first 6 military sets we should release for the IPMS National Convention In August at the Phoenix Convention Center the winning 6 sets are as follows: TCP-10601 Southeast Asia (SEA) Camouflage Colors (F-4 and B-52). TCP-10602 Modern Radar Dispersions for F-22 and F-35 Jets plus Titanium. TCP-10604 ANA World War II Colors, Army & Navy TCP-10701 Olive Drab Armor Set Plus Detail Colors TCP-10703 NATO Armor Set Including Verdant Colors TCP-10901 Flesh Tones Set - All Brushable Paint, Including several Ethnic Colors. All sets will include 6 1-oz. (30 ml) paints, an instruction sheet and a sample of our fine masking paper. Each set will be priced at $ 32.95 and will be available for sale August 1, 2018. Artwork for the boxes has already been in the works (on these and all other sets we listed in the survey) so that we would be ready to go to production the week of May 21. The first 5 sets are ALL Air Brush ready to spray at 28-35 PSI with a medium tip ! Although set # TCP-10610, the RAF WWII Set #1, actually finished in 4th place (with 250 votes), we do not have all the RAF colors matched as yet. So we will release this set, plus a couple of U.S. Naval Camouflage Sets (with a couple of more that received good numbers) for the Fall hobby season. You may place reservations for any or all of these sets with your favorite hobby shop, online store or with us directly. We will start shipping these sets after August 1. Looking forward to your comments and your orders. Your votes COUNTED and how many manufacturers have customers choose the products to be made ?! Martin Cohen, PhD Tru-Color Paint P.O. 9. On several survey sheets we were asked what would be the finish of the paints in the sets. For all cases the finish would be what was called for in the appearance of the color chips we are matching our paint to, the Federal Standard call outs for more modern colors and the advice of experts in their fields that we are working with on developing our military paint product line. However, we had a few respondents who stated we should release these sets with only glossy paint, regardless of what the specification, color chips or experts say. This way decals would be much easier to apply and since most modelers seal the decals with clear flat this would eliminate a step on having to Gloss coat the paint for decal application. We would like to have YOUR OPINION on this subject. You can either reply to this thread OR add it to the comments section on the bottom of the set survey. Do NOT forget to vote for your favorite sets on the survey - the more info we get, the better we like it ! Martin Cohen, PhD Tru-Color Paint

After only 2 days of the survey being live on our website we have already received over 50 completed surveys for the most popular military sets YOU want to see manufactured for the IPMS National Convention to be held August 1-4 in Phoenix, AZ. Keep up the good work ! The survey will remain on the website until May 18th. That is the LAST DAY we will take surveys into account for development of the sets. If you missed the survey website address, here it is again : The website address for survey is : trucolorpaint.com/trucolor-paint-release-survey/ Your input matters - we will produce only those first 6 sets which garner the most votes in the survey. How about that, a manufacturer who listens to their customers. After the convention we will add more sets to the product line, but following what is most wanted. Looking forward to your votes and comments on the survey. Martin Cohen, PhD Tru-Color Paint

  21. We sent 3 different shades of Azure Blue (plus about 4 other colors) to the people we have been working with on the RAF colors for their evaluation. This includes Rowan Baylis in UK who has written a book on the RAF and has actual color chips in his collection of this and most of the other RAF colors. He just emailed me today he received the samples this AM so we hope to hear back from him by the end of next week. Rowan said he also has Luftwaffe color chips so that may be something we should think about for 2019. Anybody have any thoughts about Luftwaffe WWII colors ? Martin Cohen, PhD Tru-Color Paint
  22. Tru-Color Paint is in the planning stages of developing military paint sets for the modeler. We have about 30 potential sets we could assemble on the drawing board and have produced mock-up art work for all the sets. Our intent is to release 4-6 of these sets at the IPMS National Convention in August of this year. We are requesting the modeler's input as to which of these sets YOU would like to see. Samples of the mock-up sets are attached. These are for the Israeli Air Force Set # 1, U.S. Navy Camouflage Set # 1 and the Metallic Set useful for armor, ship and aircraft models. There will be a poll (or survey) on our website by the end of March showing all of the proposed sets with their composition. We will let you know when the poll is posted on the website so you can vote on the sets we should produce. All military and related areas will be represented - armor, air forces, ships, diorama, figures and detailing and covers the U.S. and Israeli paints (these are the colors currently produced and ready to place into the sets). If you wish to get a jump start on the survey, we can email you a Acrobat file of the description of each set along with their contents. Just let us know if this is wanted by email, this thread or call us. How many manufacturer's request YOUR input on what they should place into production ? Tru-Color Paint listens to our customers and want to be your go to company for accurate, easy to use paint for your models, dioramas, figures, etc. All comments are welcome. Come see us at the IPMS National Convention on August 1-4 in Phoenix, AZ ! Martin Cohen, PhD Tru-Color Paint P.O. Box 74524 Phoenix, AZ 85087-4524 714-488-9779 email: tru.colorpaint1@yahoo.com
