Might also be a good idea to use something like Tamiya spray lacquer for the white, which is pretty hard, then use something like black acrylic on top.
Eric
BTW - I have heard that Hasegawa will be releasing a 1/20th scale Lotus 79 kit in 2010... should be cool.
Paint it flat white first. Then black. Then lightly sand the black away off of the raised letters. -
I am pretty sure the thread was deleted by FSM.

Uhmmm, Mark, Terry is NOT a member of IPMS/USA, you're wasting your time posting here. After reading his blogspot, I went over to FSMs forum but could not find the offending thread, too bad Terry didn't link to it in his blog.

If anyone is interested in the largest 'Airfix' Spitfire model ever produced - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00nnm3d#synopsis
It was a pretty nice episode and had some interesting bits about scale modeling in the modern age.
Pity you need to be in the UK to see it...

If you are finding no cookies for ipmsusa2.org, that would be the reason you need to re-log in. Sounds like you have cookies turned off in Safari's Security preference pane, I set mine to 'Only from sites I visit'.
Eric
I find no cookies for ipmsusa2.org. -
So am I and I have no issues - you may need to flush out any cookies for ipmsusa2.org . Also, if you are running any IM clients like Adium, I have noticed an issue with it making a mess of cookies...
Eric
I'm using Safari 4.0.3. -
I am not seeing this issue - what browsers are people who are having trouble using?

I keep an eye on HLJ's site - they post info from the major shows and they also do 'Early Bord' pre-orders.

I can't figure out where the Falcon 'model' in the glass cube coffee table came from... I wonder if its an original from ILM?

RC2 has announced that they are working on a kit of the new Enterprise..
E
I'm hoping beyond hope that the new Enterprise will be released in kit form (and the lights and sound toy that's out right now doesn't count...) -
You ought to stop by f1m.com sometime.. Mike Portaro who runs IndyCals is a frequent contributor in the Forum section.. If you have any questions about his decals, that's a good place to ask.
Eric
SWEET thanks Eric! -
HI,
Don't bother with Tamiya - go to http://indycals.net/Decals/78Ferrari312T3.html - and get them there.
Eric
Does anyone know if you can order direct from Tamiya, I need sheet number 20010 Ferrari 312T3Decal #010. The white has yellowed and the rest is brittle and cracked.

I think the bottle is also a clear dark blue instead of just clear plastic.

If I'm not mistaken, Future is still made, albeit with a name change - it's now called 'Pledge with Future Shine'. It's still widely available here in Georgia and as far as I know, it's still being made, just under that different name. -
That's the mini poster that comes with the Fine Molds kit. I stuck it in a frame for ease of use.
Eric
Very nice detailing, and I do like your "Tiling" and "Plating" paintwork!! "Perfect" isn't the issue, it's "As good as you can do within your level of expertise", and it looks quite well executed to me Eric!BTW: Great reference, and painting swatch graphics on the wall, that's doing your "homework", good job Dude!

Actually, 1:20th was the 'weird' choice made by Tamiya because they felt that they could not produce 1:24th scale kits without making the suspension pieces too fragile. With 1970s injection molding this was probably the case, but things have advanced a great deal. Fortunately we now have both Hasegawa and Fujimi producing new 20th scale F1 cars, along with Revell DE's 24th scale.
Pity Tamiya seems to have given up on making new F1 kits - I have heard no rumors for quite some time.

Very nicely done.

Posted today on the R-M Web site:
To Our Loyal Customers:
Over the years we have been pleased to provide you with the finest NASCAR plastic model kits featuring the most popular drivers. Regrettably however, over the last several years we have faced increasing licensing costs that are greater than our increase in sales. Despite our best efforts to secure reasonable licensing terms for NASCAR model kits in general, and the Car of Tomorrow in particular, we have been unable to develop a program that allows us to market the product at a viable price point. Consequently, we will not be issuing a kit on the Car of Tomorrow and, in fact, will be exiting the NASCAR business altogether. We will discontinue all sales of NASCAR plastic kits by February 28, 2009.
This has been an extremely difficult decision to make as we are fully aware of the avid fan base of NASCAR model kit builders and truly appreciate your support over the years. We trust you will find other model kits in our line that will be of interest and that will provide you with the model building enjoyment you desire.
Please note that we still have inventory of selected models as shown below. Check with your favorite dealer to see if they are carrying any of the items. If they are out of stock, they can obtain any of these items for you very quickly through their distributor.

I really miss Isaac...
and the I, Robot film was initially 'modeled' after a different story and only got the name after their rights were transferred...

Eric
Indeed!!! The "I Robot" film, paled in comparison, with the extreme complexity of his written work! Keep it going guys, plenty to discuss on this one topic alone!! -

I wish other model manufacturers would do things like RSS feeds, blogs, etc... if they really want to attract the younger crowd, they need to step into the 21st century. Otherwise they are in serious trouble,
Eric
I use Google's customizable Homepage....including an RSS feed from Dragon Models USA! -
No problem... just wanted to check..
Eric
Eric,No, not at this time. I would have to install and test additional software which may or may not be compatible with IPBoard, and because we're on a shared host, I'm a little concerned about bandwidth (not to mention security). I also still have too many other repair tasks to perform on the website to restore functions to other areas. I just don't have the time right now for non-essential features.

You might look into Scale Motorsports 'clear' carbon fibre decals. I have heard a few good things about them.
