Ray,
There are lots of places to look, your local hobby shop, online hobby shops for example such as Squadron.com, HobbyLic.com, SprueBrothers.com, etc. Check with this forum if you don't want to shop around elsewhere. Our nearby Hobby Lobby has Revell 1/48" B-17 and B-25 kits for sale. Some have other brands. Tim's suggestion was Google; eBay does have some deals also.
Happy Modeling,

Bob,
I am primarily a aircraft modeler. However, I do know of a model supply company that specializes in model car paint, and has most American auto manufacturers paint options back to at least 1935. The name of the company is Model Car World and they are located in Massillion, Ohio. Try this website: mcwautomotivefinishes.com.
Happy modeling,

Schooner:
Remember to study the P-51D in question. Wartime photographs seldom reveal a plane too shiny, unless the maintenance crew had a lot of time on their hands, or a recent restoration showing a very high degree of luster on the aluminum. I now use what Tim uses, Testors Model Master paints, especially the aluminum and magnesium shades with airbrush. I have used others but it can get involved if you are a beginner.
Happy Modeling,

Well done Dick! I remember building this kit back in 1981, and it still looks good.

Anyway, welcome aboard Sarge!

You have some nice Detroit iron there, Dave. In the 60's I dealt with the real thing myself cruisin' Griff's Hamburgers there in Dallas and hanging around with five other guys who felt the same way . Although I am an aircraft modeler I do love hot rods and muscle cars.
Welcome aboard,

Kudos to you Gil! Great work! China Lake has had some interesting aircraft there over the years.

Very nice, Dick!

Way to go, Gil!

Very nice work, Gil! I understand the difficulties with basic build vs. fine detail.

Many thanks Clare!

Nice work, Duke. I don't see too many Korean War Mustangs or spruced up Stearman markings these days.

Very nice work Bill! My hat is off to you!

I also used Alclad aluminum and Testors Model Master Magnesium for the panels.

Many thanks, Gil. This is the old Monogram 1/48" scale kit I had lying around since 1983. I need to add intake and exhaust covers for it. It took 265 hours of labor over two years to build it, interrupted by the B-24D I built for the book release "Before the Bell" last year.
