TimHortman Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 All, Please remind me how to do a scale conversion. I can't remember... I have a PE part in 1/350 that I want to reproduce in 1/48. What is the % I need to use on the copier? I'm not sure how it will work out, but it will give me a starting point to scratchbuild the part I need. Thanks! Tim

Divide the FROM by the TO 350 / 48 = 7.29 or 729% But most copiers can't do that in one jump so you have to work up in stages Square root of 7.29 is 2.7 (270%) so scale part up by 270 then scale result up again by 270. If copier won't do 270%, the square root of 2.7 is 1.64 (164%), so do it 4 times ... John
TimHortman Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 Cool - Thanks John, I had that as one of the results, but thought that 729% was too much (and I didn't think about doing the other math!) I'll see what I can come up with on the copier now. Cheers! Tim
