burner12 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 Does anybody have or knwo of any sites that have highly detailed F-4J cockpit and RIO photos? That include the left and right panels?
ghodges Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Try here: http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=F-4J+Phantom+cockpit+pictures&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=vxJPTcHPDc_TgQeC5Iwm&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CCMQsAQwAA&biw=1280&bih=834 I don't know if this will help, but if you scroll down under pg2, there a pic of an F-4J resin cockpit set, mostly assembled and painted. Not only is that a good reference, but you can use it to check against the real pics on the pages to figure out which ones are J cockpit pics (or B/Ns, which are not very different on the side panels). Hope this helps! GIL
Kranman Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 If you can swing it, Daco's book on "Uncovering the F-4 Phantom" is a tremendous help, as their F-14 book is as well. Not inexpensive but full of everything you'd need on all USN versions of the Phantom. I also found the Detail & Scale books to be of use here though not to such a great extent.
burner12 Posted February 7, 2011 Author Report Posted February 7, 2011 Thanks for the help Kranman, but I just decided that the Detail and Scale can do the job for me. That does have good cockpit pics right?
ghodges Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 The D&S F4 "Navy" Phantoms book does have -J cockpit pics, although not the biggest. However, they are in color. GIL

ghodges Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 D&S= Detail and Scale. The Navy Phantom book is blue cover as opposed to most of the brownish D&S books. GIL
