noelsmith Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 I have heard that there may well be a CGI Movie based on Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds. Has anyone else heard of this? Or is it just a rumour? One of my aims is to get to see the live show when it comes around again here at the O2 or the NEC in the UK. The original story by H.G.Wells was based in the South of England, so perhaps the CGI movie (if it happens) will be more true to the story in the book than both the Americanised film versions. The book reflects the attitudes, reactions and eventual hysteria of Victorian/Edwardian Britain at the height of Empire when the country was the dominant military power. As suddenly, the balance of power was stripped away by beings from another world with far superior weapons technology.
