Mark Aldrich Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Fellow TreadHeads, Went to my LHS and got a great deal on this kit. I was looking over the instructions and parts and realized there is an error. According to the instructions and parts diagram, I either got a bad J sprue or a wrong J sprue. Below are the pictures and what is in my kit. The fender extensions are missing on my hull. Has anyone else bought this kit and had the same problem? If so, did Dragon care assist you? Mark
RobMorales Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Mark, you are SOL with that upper hull. Everyone I know who has that kit has the same issue. There may be missing periscope covers as well. You may have to scratch the missing details. Wish I could be of real help.
Mark Aldrich Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) Rob, After looking closer at it I figured (knowing how Dragon instructions are) they use the lower hull overhang (which they tell you to cut off) as the extensions. This means doctoring them up to make them work. Thanks for the advise. I am glad I got it for a steal though. Mark Edited July 19, 2010 by Mark Aldrich
Mark Aldrich Posted July 19, 2010 Author Report Posted July 19, 2010 Dragon Care rocks if this happens.................................... Dear Mark, Thank you for your efforts. We have not heard from Cyber-Hobby regarding the wrong hull assembly. However, Cyber-Hobby did mention to us that there's been a revision regarding the front plates for attaching the fenders. The front plates are photo-etched parts instead of plastic parts that include additional instructions. The PE parts will be mailed out today. They should arrive within the next 2 to 3 business days. If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to contact us again, thank you. Best regards, DragonCare

If so, did/will they correct the problem with the kit's hull?
Mark Aldrich Posted August 12, 2010 Author Report Posted August 12, 2010 Rick, Actually I did and completely forgot to let anyone know. They arrived several days later. I got a small fret that has PE extensions on them. Definately a fix. Mark
