Kartal Posted May 30, 2017 Report Posted May 30, 2017 Dear Members, Can anybody comment on Alclad high speed silver, its properties, possible application examples, etc? I couldn't find this product at the official website, neither among the "regular" finishes, nor in the "high shine" ones.
ghodges Posted May 31, 2017 Report Posted May 31, 2017 (edited) In my mind "high speed silver" was a British term for one of their silver paints in the 50's/60's. In other words, I think it's more of a "name" than a type of "finish". What little I read of it was it was a mix of silver paint and gloss varnish. It sounds like Alclad has reproduced a silver paint that is needed for RAF planes of that period, as opposed to producing a different color of natural metal finish.
