Eskemo Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 My father served as a radar man during Vietman and would love to build his ship for him. I have searched and searched but nothing exists.
Ron Bell Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 I don't know how accurate this is or if you're "up" for a kit search, but Renwal did a kit of the Galveston, which was a sister ship. Try this link for more info. http://www.modelerjoe.net/shipmodellist.html#RenGal 1
Guest PetrolGator Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 IIRC, USS Galveston was -pretty- close to the Oklahoma City. With the poor accuracy/detail of the kit, much scratch build will be necessary to really update and improve it, anyway. You also have the option of taking a USS Miami, WWII era, and doing a -major- reconstruction. The hulls are identical, and they were near sisters in WWII. 1
Eskemo Posted August 6, 2015 Author Report Posted August 6, 2015 Thanks! These are great starting points. Possible Xmas gift for my dad.
